Your next step

From your item to a written offer

  1. 1

    Tell us about your item

Choose an item type and enter the amount you would like to request. Send an email enquiry with a short description; please leave out bank details, identity documents and other sensitive information.

  2. 2

    Discuss the assessment

Ask whether the item can be considered and what an assessment would involve. A requested amount or description does not establish the item’s loan value.

  3. 3

    Review the offer

If an offer is available after assessment, review the amount, charges, redemption deadline and full terms before deciding whether to leave your item.

Cash against assessed property

A pawn enquiry starts with the property: what it is, its condition and what comes with it. Photos or a description may help the initial discussion, but they do not fix the loan value. Confirm whether the item can be considered and what assessment steps are needed.

A pawn loan, with an item as security

“Cash advance” can mean several products. The option discussed here is an item-backed pawn loan. It is different from withdrawing against a credit card or using a pay-advance service. Ask for the product name and written terms rather than relying on the phrase “cash advance.”

A separate choice from card borrowing

A card advance uses an existing card account and its advance limit. Its fees, interest start date and repayment terms come from the issuer. Pawn borrowing involves handing over an item and paying the agreed redemption amount to get it back. Each route carries different costs and risks.

The amount and timing you need

Include your requested amount and deadline in the enquiry. Ask when an assessment and any subsequent handover could take place. A response, an assessment or a requested amount does not guarantee funds or a completion time. Confirm each step before relying on the money for a bill.

The cost of recovering your item

Review the cash received, complete payoff and redemption date together. Ask what changes if you need more time. The pledged item may be sold if the terms are not met; consider its practical and sentimental value alongside the amount you might borrow.
